• School Closings/Delays: After consulting with EMA and the County Commissioners Office regarding the weather conditions, our Laurens County Schools will be closed 2/19/2020. Continued rain deems the roads hazardous for our buses to travel. Employees are to report to work from 9am-3pm. If a staff member’s road conditions are unsafe or other extenuating circumstances arise, please consult with your principal/building supervisors.

I teach fifth grade science and math.   This is my sixth year at NWLE. Before that, I taught at Dublin Middle School for 9 years, Pulaski County Middle School for two years, and Arden Elementary, in South Carolina for one year.  I recieved both my bachelor's degree and master's degree from Georgia Southern University.  I love learning, and I strive to learn something new everyday.  My students teach me so much about life.  I love it when they have those "Ahhh Ha!" moments.  I believe that students learn best through experience.  I try to provide lots of hands-on learning in my classroom through labs and group projects.  When I am not teaching, I spend much of my time volunteering with the local youth program at my church.  I have been on many overseas mission trips.  This past summer, I was able to work in the operating room in a mission hospital in the Dominican Republic.  What an amazing experience!   In my spare time, I like to travel, cook, and play outdoors.
