Vision Statement:

Rigor, Relevance, Relationships...every student, every teacher, every day.

Mission Statement:

Laurens County Schools are student-centered communities of learners that challenge students to become independent critical thinkers, problem solvers, and contributing citizens.

I am a proud graduate of West Laurens High School and enjoy the opportunity to teach at my alma mater. I received my Associates Degree from Middle Georgia College before attending Brewton Parker College where I graduated magna cum laude  with a Bachelor's Degree in Secondary English Education. Since beginning my teaching career, I have enjoyed several professional development opportunities to include adding my gifted endorsement, certifying as both an Advanced Placement Literature and Composition and an Advanced Placement Language and Composition teacher, and participating in the Georgia Southern Writing Project's Summer Institute.

In addition to my duties as an English teacher, I also serve as the director of Thespian Troupe 2994. Members of this active and growing drama troupe have the opportunity to participate in the region One Act Competition each October, region Literary Competition each March, and a full-length production each April. Additionally, students who have been inducted into the International Thespian Society may attend the Georgia Thespian Conference each February.

As much as I love teaching, I find my most fulfilling roles in life to be those of wife and mother. I live in Dexter with my husband JP, two children Peyton and Emma, and Hercules the dog. In rare moments of free time, I enjoy reading, creative writing, attending theatrical productions, and camping.
